Thai Appetizers - Diversity in YUM!!

Simply Thai Cooking
Thai Appetizers
All Thai food is known for its balance of the five fundamental taste senses in each dish or the overall meal: hot (spicy), sour, sweet, salty, and bitter...The enormous list of tasty Thai tid-bits is no exception to the rule, a delicate balance of light and aromatic ingredients prepared while focusing on a balance of flavours is the key for a delicious beginning to the experience of dining.

A traditional Thai meal at home wouldn't include a starter but, thanks to the ever-increasing number of Thai restaurants, there are several dishes that have become classics. As with most 'appetizers', they can quite easily be served a full main course with the simple addition of rice.

Always great to have as a snack or out on the bar at the weekend parties for nibblers as the happy juice begins to flow, guaranteed to to be a big hit with your family and friends!! Check out the menu, I have many of the great choices and as always have added my own special twist to each, if you dont see what you like, simply ask me and I will prepare your 'custom' order!!!

I can't even begin to decide which would be my favorite, likely because there will be many, many more than one!!!!

Sept 29th Special - Khao Pad Grapow Kai Dao - ผัดกระเพราไข่เยี่ยวม้า

This is a Thai favorite, found on every menu and every street corner in the country...To really enjoy this dish it needs the CHILLI!  Savory, spicy, and redolent of garlic and basil, it’s not like the chicken really needs any help, but what really sets this dish off for me is the fried egg on top. Sunny-side-up and yolk still runny, the egg adds just a touch of velvety richness to this humble weeknight meal. On a pile of hot jasmine rice, this basil chicken is heaven on a plate.  You can order this or anything from the Take Away Menu...Call Pipon on 77495249!!!

Kanom Chan Bi Tua - Thai Condo Cake

Today was also a special day for sweets!  Thai desserts have given rise to multifarious possibility of creativity with the usage of three main ingredients like rice, coconut and sugar. The desserts in Thailand are theme-based all directed in giving success and prosperity. I am sharing about Khanom Chan, which is a three-layered dessert, depicting the many layers of happiness. This red / green-colored is very sweet and is made with glutinous rice flour, coconut milk and Bi Tua (Pandan Leaves).  ENJOY!!!  YOU CAN ORDER ANY SWEET OR DISH ANY DAY...JUST ORDER WITH PIPON!!!!!
